I am Heidi Drummer, Mankato’s Volunteer Program Coordinator and Support Group Facilitator in Training. Margy Johnson (new Mankato Director) introduced me to Door of Hope at the 2018 spring banquet. While listening to the testimonies I was moved with the compassion of God. Although I didn’t know in what capacity, I knew that this was something I needed to be part of.
Door of Hope Mankato has started two women’s support groups and are currently offering trauma recovery prayer ministry. Our prayer is that, within the next year, we’ll be able to add support groups for men, teens and children. The future plan for Door of Hope Mankato is to establish a permanent office and a safe house.
I reside in rural Mankato with my husband Andrew of 15 years. My daughters, Elsie and Lyla, are 21 and will be graduating from college this fall. We attend New Creation World Outreach Church.
