Find freedom and God's life-changing transformation.

individual prayer ministry

Men, women, teens and children who receive our Bible-based individual trauma recovery prayer ministry, find freedom and transformation from the deep wounding caused by abuse.

Door of Hope’s Trauma Recovery Prayer Ministry is based on the Immanuel Approach, discovered and developed by Dr. E. James Wilder and Dr Karl Lehman, a board-certified psychiatrist with 25 years and more than 40,000 hours of clinical experience.

Dr Lehman has worked to integrate faith-based emotional healing with insights provided by psychological and neurological research. (More info at

Some of what they’ve discovered (and we’re witnessing) is that healing is more likely to happen from a place of positive relational connection with Jesus than from a place of pain. In 2018, we facilitated more than 150 of these prayer sessions, often with transformative results.

Our prayer ministers:

  • are trained extensively in the Immanuel Approach and proven trauma recovery and prayer ministry techniques

  • are mentored and then accompanied, until they are ready to minister on their own

  • work in pairs, to facilitate a sense of safety for the participant, and to ensure accountability

Door of Hope also provides Trauma Recovery Counseling and Prayer Ministry training for church/ministry groups and individuals, enabling God's healing to spread around the globe. To learn more, or receive training, contact Prayer Ministry Director at

“For 25 years I carried wounds of sexual abuse alone, with no healing in sight...

It did not take long before the Lord led me into a time of deep inner healing....Diane remained an advocate for me through the process of helping me connect with Jesus in the midst of my wounds.

The result? Freedom! Jesus has set me free from my wounds thanks to Diane’s faithfulness to gently walk me through them with Jesus fully present.

What a gift she is and all the good work the Lord does in and through her.”
